307 boot handle not locking

Bit of snow this morning, when I opened the boot it would not close again. Tried warm water and wd40, would still not lock. Had to leave the car at a shopping centre unlocked as all doors wont shut if boot is unlocked.

Anyway, arrived home about an hour ago and it shut properly first time.

Any ideas a quicker way to get this to lock as I presume it will happen again with the weather forecasting more snow....

Maybe get a can of deicer next time, that'd prob be better than wd40....
