Default 307 1.6 glx bsi trouble

Hello guys i am new here so be gentle if i get things wrong !!
My wife has a 307 glx 1.6 on a 52 plate .She broke down as the car will not start ,engine is turning ! .The dash has econamy mode lit up ,the electric windows dont go ,the alarm and doors dont lock by remote .Anyway we got the breakdown services out ,he looked at it checked the fuses etc ,and then plugged into the car computer ,that showed no probs ,he said that the bsi has gone to sleep so he tried to wake it up ,did not work after loads of tries ,so he thinks the bsi is dead .Can i buy one from a donor car and just plug it in and go ,or does it need programming to the car ,any ideas guys . thanks

A new BSI has to be new and programmed to your car , i would try and find someone close by to plug "Peugeot Planet Diagnostics" in first to check for sure , if its the BSI it will show up on diagnostics , check my map below to see if you`re near anyone .

On Planet the BSI will be faded out or no communication with BSI will be shown , then you can blame the BSI , untill then i wouldn`t rush into it.
