306 cooling fans problem

hi, hope someone can help me on this site i have a 306 xs 99 model 1800cc.16v engine , the problem i have is all of a sudden the electric cooling fans wont come on when the engine reaches 90 on the temp gauge , in the past the fans would cut in when it reached this temp but they dont now . the fans do come on but only when they want too and when the engine is turned off and left overnight resulting in a flat battery ive tried changing the temp switch for a new one but still not working can anyone help me ??????? . thanks . ps my car has aircon
