Default 206 Torsion Bar

Hi guys, my sister took her 206 to the garage because one of the rear wheels had lots of movement in it.
They said it is the Torsion Bar that needs replacing, does anyone know where I can get one of these and on average how much they cost?
Google didn't help me, thanks guys.

The rear axle failing is a common fault on the 206's which will cause horrible rear wheel wobble. probably that rather than just the torsion bar.

And it's easier / more practical to replace the whole lot anyway.

I got a whole rear axle assembly (this includes torsion bar etc btw) for 80 from a scrap yard. (was checked first to make sure this was not gone aswell...)

And think there is some going on ebay currently...search 206 rear axle.

Make sure you get the right one though. Drum/disk...abs/no abs.

you can also get reconditioned ones with a warranty though there a bit more expensive. i went for the cheap route

hope this helps

You are probably better off with a recon axle if she plans on keeping it.I got a scrap axle for hers and that too failed 18 months later so now we got a recon axle with a two year guarantee

OK thanks mate,
Do you think it is worth just getting the Torsion Bar done first to see if it solves the problem? as she didn't pay a lot for the car and probably not worth spending a great deal on it.

I'd say it's the axle, the seal on the bearings fail allowing water in and seizing the arm.It is a v common fault on the 206 so I would doubt the torsion bar is at fault.
