Default 206 exhaust hanger

Hi folks.. New member

I was hoping to get advice on this problem with my exhaust.

The exhaust metal hanger bracket on my back box has eroded and the exhaust is hanging a tad low but not much. There is no noise indicting the erosion has gone through the back box,so at the moment ive got thick stainless steel wire and tied the exhaust back in its rightful place. It seems secure and its not rattling when i go round corners.

Thing is,i have a mot due. I thought they could just replace the hanger but fear they may sting me for a new back box. Would the car fail a mot on not having the correct hanger even if the exhaust was performing as it should and was secure? I did contemplate getting a large jubilee clip to hold it in place.

Any help greatfully received . Thanks
