Default 206 cutting-out problem

Hi,
I posted on here a few times going back earlier this year regarding a persistent engine cutting-out fault on a 1999 1.1ltr 206, and nobody seemd to have any real idea how to fix it. A bit of research showed that this had been a very common fault, even being on BBC Watchdog a few years ago, when Peugeot had no idea why it was happening. We were reluctant to get rid of a car with only 53k on the clock, but the problem did not seem to have any solution and the garage were talking a new ecu ( which apparently would not necessarily fix the problem ) So, we sold it on e-bay a few months ago for £320 and a chap travelled over 200 miles to pick it up to take home and work on it. He contacted me recently to say that it took him a while, but the problem was caused by a free-floating small scrap of paper in the inlet butterfly housing, which he removed and the car had been running fine for several weeks with no sign of cutting out. I'm no mechanic, so I don't know if that would be feasible for something like that to find it's way into the fuel system through some fault in the manufacturing process, but this problem was apparently very common, so I really don't think that this cause would be peculiar to just our car. Anyway, I just thought I would pass that on as a possible solution for anyone currently scratching their head over a similar cutting-out problem. Kind regards and all the best for the New Year to everyone.
