206 1.6 hdi only runs with oil cap off? ? ?

Hi just been to look at a 206 hdi 2005 and it would not run unless i took oil filler cap off and when i took it off it kicked loads of black smoke out and as it was revved it turned blue and was knocking it bollocks off. Said anti polluted fault.
could the dfp be blocked? surly it would not run by exhaust gasses coming out of filler cap?

I own one already Gti hdi 2004 cost me 3k
this is for my mate.

Just wondering what it is that is making it do that.

Only guessing , but could be DPF blocked or software dpf off not done right so its still pre injecting letting diesel through the seals , too much oil in sump , oil is thinner with diesel so top end knocking , check dipstick level.

Sounds like a blocked breather. A sign of major neglect. Avoid, cos it doesn't bode well.
