206 1.4 Verve 2003 Reg Electrical Problem??

Hope someone can help

I have a 206 1.4 Verve 2003 Reg. When i'm driving along the car engine and electrics cut out nothing displays on the dashboard or anything and there's no problem on re - starting the car. When this happens i can hear a click sound come from under the steering wheel.

I had someone look at the on board computer thing (Yes I'm a girl) lol and they have explained that the computer system is not picking the fault up.

can anyone help me before i take the car into the garage?
