Hello,
My son has just inherited my Mum's 1987 205 Junior 954c. Within a month number 4 spark plug has complety blown out taking all the thread on the cylinder head with it. The plug has no resistance in the head, it can be pushed or pulled out. The thread must have been stripped at some point over the years. Has anyone fixed this problem before, is it possible to put an insert in without removing the head. I read on another forum (not a 205) how a chap opened the exhaust valve, inserted an helicoil, blew compressed air into the cylinder to clear the metal out, job done. Has anyone done this? The angle of the engine seems to make it very tricky. Cheers Terry |
