Hi all,
I bought a 206 CC 1.6 HDI last summer for my partner. Ever since we bought it we have had a couple of problems with it. Firstly the "antipollution fault" warning is always displayed and the light always stays on. I have read about this problem elsewhere. Shortly after getting the car I put it through it's 72,000 mile service which meant it had the fuel filter changed. I thought this might do the trick, and at first it seemed to as the light didn't come on, but after driving for about 20 miles it came back on. The second problem, which could be linked, is that there is alot of black soot on and around the engine. Now I have spoken to my mechanic who talks about how it could be this and it could be that. I entirely trust him but I don't believe he has alot of experience with Peugeot HDI engines and was hoping somebody on here might tell me the most likely resolution for these 2 problems. Thanks in advance Dave |

A good diagnostic needed and the clamp on the Turbo is letting the soot out.

When you say a good diagnostic, do you mean at Peugeot or will some independent garages have the equipment to do it?

Doesn't have to be at Peugeot, check the Peugeot Planet owner's map under Maintenance and find someone local to you who can do it for a fraction of the cost of Peugeot doing it
