Default Peugeot Planet 2000 questions from a newbie

Hey everybody,

I just got a little bit into OBD2 car diag lately. Got myself a cheap ELM327 compatible BT OBD2 Interface and it seems to be working well with "Torque" on my Android smartphone. Can read all data, access ECU, reset fault codes etc.
Now I got my hands on Peugeot Planet 22.14 and wanted to know if I can use PP with that Bluetooth OBD2 Interface, or do I need a special "compatible" PP OBD2 Interface? As I said the Interface basically works well with my 207cc.
Further more I already installed PP2000 on Windows7 "XP Mode". But I can't seem to start it. Well it does start, but after a few seconds the Peugeot Window just disappears and thats it. Has anyone got PP running in Windows7 XP Mode? Or do I need to install XP? Or do I need an OBD2 Interface connected so that PP launches at all?
Anyway, the main question is will my OBD2 Interface work? Would be great if someone could answer this.

thanks,

polford

hey and welcome to the forum

peugeot planet will only work with the planet/lexia interface not any other device. so that is a no go.

as for installing on windows 7, no-one has yet managed to install a stable version with win7 as a base Operating System. I on the other hand installed a program called VMWARE Player (freeware) created a virtual terminal with XP installed and succesfully ran planet from that. worked a treat

hope this helps

hey cc,

thanks for the info ... regarding the lexia interface? can I buy that standalone? or only the lexia/pp software package.
How much would the lexia interface itself be approx?

Edit:

Could I get this for example (sorry, but can't post the ebay link yet)

FedEx Lexia 3 V47&PP V24 Citroen Peugeot diagnostic

Lexia 3 CITROEN & PEUGEOT DIAGNOSTIC tool Lexia3 V47!!! Also including PP2000 V24!!!
Newest version V47 and PP2000 V24 included, 36 Months Warranty!!! and Free lifetime updates.!!!

Price is 107€ coming from the UK.

and thus be able to use all PP2000 features, including ECU/BSI software updates directly from Peugeot?

With ref to above
If its the same add as the one I have just looked at it says it comes with a

( Key Gen that can produce Code to activate software!!!! )

If you pay around £1500 you can get Lexia/planet and if you are a dealer, thus be able to use all PP2000 features, including ECU/BSI software updates directly from Peugeot?

Thanks Vpug

Unless you are a dealer you cannot use the downloads or diagrams on pp ,

with the cheap pp you have mentioned you can do everything else and you can also download service box on this site to make up for what you`re not paying for.

even if you pay the amount above, which you will have to be mental to do i doubt you will be able to do the software updates, as it is PSA themselves that holds the server, who then issues usernames and passwords which is stored within the computer...ie the activation.

No I am not a dealer, but I feel ripped off by dealers, though I am still under full waranty, but that's a whole different story. But it's the reason why I am trying to take things into my own hands.
Anyway, I read that from a software point of view, keygen activated pp2000 CAN do software updates for the BSI/ECU, is this correct or not? What you are saying is, that I can only update my BSI/ECU with latest soft from peueot if I have a legitimate license? I read otherwise so far ....
Or is it also a hardware question, thus .... that the "cheap" lexia hardware interface is the reason I cannot update the software or change functions of the BSI/ECU?

thanks

Btw, betty ....

if this is all about legitimate versions here ... ;-) what "keygen" are u guys talking in other threads of this forum about?

I don't really thin that PSA sells their software with keygens .... do they?

betty, what do you mean with "service box"? I am totally new to this, so please excuse any stupid questions :-)
So you are saying with service box, whatever that is, I can update my ECU/BSI software? That's the main reason why I want to get PP going to get latest software, adjust functions, like activating/deactivating rain sensors and stuff etc.

thanks

HI Polford

You can adjust all functions in ecu's with cheap lexia activating items like rain sensors, auto door locking ect that's configuring your ecu/software.

you can not down load updated software with a cheap rip off one, it uses factory software so you need keygen to activate pp2000.

Thanks Vpug
