Default interesting glitch? pp2000

Had a 54 206 gti 180 as the comm2000 had stopped showing the fuel, mpg, and miles since last service. also the owner wanted hazards on when they stamp on the brakes.
conected to pp 206+ it found the vin number and went through global unkown reference, ecu being referenced no faults found when going into bsi mfd the options were not there.
so went back and used 206 entered build number then all options were found and i was able to configure them. Although when it does global it comes up unkown reference, ecu being referenced no faults found.
This makes me wonder if it is actualy doing a proper test, i can hear clicks under the bonet the air con comes on and so does the radio.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated
