Hello, just a quick question. I've just bought a new car and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how you tell whether or not brake pads need changing. The car had been parked up outside without moving for quite a long time before I bought it, so do the brake just need a bit of use in order for the squealing to stop? Or does this mean it is now time to change them?

Just a thin coating on them they should wear off with use , if they are done its more a grinding metal to metal sound and you`ll know it.
