Cannot search by Model number

I am a new member of this forum and was interested in finding all threads relating to 308s as I have recently purchased one. However, the search engine will not allow me to search for the term "308" and the error message seems to indicate that the search term is too small. Can this be changed? I think that this would be very handy as it is very time consuming to find model-specific information as you are forced to search every forum and sub-forum.
