Hi, my headlights turned on all by themselves 3 days ago when the car was parked, locked and the engine cold. Tried to turn them off manually, this didn't work. Nothing did. In the end had to take out fuse No. 4 in order to shut them off. This also disabled the alarm, immobiliser and airbag.
Brought the car to our local Peugeot dealer who told me that the block behind the steering wheel which contains the indicator/wiper sticks would have to be completely changed at a cost of 550 euros (we live in France). Is it absolutely necessary that the whole block needs to be changed as it seems a little excessive that there is such a cost and no other solution. Please anyone advise on what can be done, Thanks |

Hi
Yes, I am affraid that this unit, typically called a COMM2000 will be at fault. There are companies that will repair them, and also they are available on Ebay all the time. If you do buy a replacement and fit yourself, ensure that you buy the correct one for your car. There are big variations with combinations for trip, front fogs, auto lights, auto wipers etc, so be careful. New units on Ebay are typically between £100-£150 depending on spec. Hope that helps David |
