Hey All,
I need some new back tyres and just wondering which ones you would advise are 'best' but wont break the bank. All weather and dont wear quickly preferably. I have a continental on my spare but I believe these are pretty pricey! Any ideas where I can get them cheap too? Are Khumo's any good? I can get those for £80 each but I am unsure. Any hints or tips much appreciated!

Well if you want your wheels wrapping with good rubber you have to pay the price, ive just bought the toyo proxies on friday and though they were a bargain for what they are, £125 per tyre, Regards whistler

Get onto ebay man there is enough shops selling new tyres, just input your size like "2x 195 65 15" for example and then you should get a choice

If you check out Camskill and Mytyres (do a Google) they both sell a wide variety of rubber at excellent prices. Buy what you can afford - a cheap new tyre is far better than a heavily worn quality one. If you press on, its worth buying better rubber, but cheaper rubber is fine if you dont demand much with regards to real performance. Dont get caught up in the brand snobbery... 195/65*15's should start around £32 inc vat and delivery.... David |

I used to go bargain basement on my old 306, there was a garage doing 2 for 34 quid!
And they actually handled really well, but because i used to hammer that car around the fronts needed changing come most MOT times! Back were spot on though, lasted years!

I need to get new summer tyres. I've just put the winter ones on, but the summer ones are shagged! The summer ones are/were Dunlop CP Sport 3000 and have lasted about 25 000 miles. The winter ones are Michelin Maxi Ice, and have probably a couple more winters left in them - the tread is well away from low-tread mark.
We have a 1.6l 307 SW, which has done just over 68 000 km (about 42 000 miles) since 2002. Summer tyres are on from May to November. So, you can see we don't really need high perfomance jobbies, but as I'm on the dole, cheapish ones will do, though nothing from China...
