406 automatic

Hi everyone hopefully someone could help with this question.
I have a 2001 2.0 16v automatic 406 with the al4 gearbox, which is now playing up, i have been offered a replacement box,it has come from a 2000 1.8 16v xantia, would this fit any help would be appreciated thanks

Hi I have 206 with same AL4 gearbox which had problems and I was told I would have to replace with same.
I eventually put mine to an automatic gearbox specialist and although it cost me a fortune to repair (thanks to previous owners messing with it) they really know their stuff.
Good luck and it costs nothing but the price of a phone call to ask the specialists for guidance.
