Question Using Radio Stalk with aftermarket stereo?

Hi again.

As you can probably see from my last thread I've just installed my Sony CDX-GT35U Stereo in my 2004 206 S 1.4

I was wondering if there was a cheap way of enabling my radio stalk to work with my new stereo. I was planning on buying an adapter from ebay:

SONY - PEUGEOT 206 307 406 Steering Wheel Stalk Adaptor on eBay (end time 16-Apr-11 17:09:56 BST)

I just wanted to check whether there was a cheaper way of sorting this before I buy it. And if this is the only way is it the correct adapter ?

Thanks in advance. You lot are great

Chris

sorry i cant check ebay links at work...but basically you want:

pc99-x44 and pc99-son...

you can pick these up on google for about £30 for the pair just search pc99-x44 and a few audio shops will have them and a drop down menu to select sony.

Oh I see now... a pc99-x44 is the wiring and a pc99-son is also known as a patch lead?

However when i search for pc99-x44 a different adapter comes up to what I have now... Which looks like this:

So from that it doesnt look like a pc99-x44 would fit into the back of my stereo

if im looking at that picture correctly, you already have the sony iso adaptor that you got with the radio attached to the harness.

well basically for pc99-x44 to work you take that iso adaptor off, plug pc99 onto the vehicle audio harness direct and then, if needed the iso adaptor on the end...so in laymens terms it goes in the middle.

hope that makes some kind of sense

Aaah! Yes that makes perfect sense, so I plug my Sony ISO adapter into the PC-99 X44, and then plug that into my cars audio harness I get ya

Hi thought I'd let you know that in the end I bought the adapter from that eBay link as I asked the seller if it was the same as the adapter you suggested he said it was. I installed it today and it works fine
