Default Stupid after market stereo - going crazy please help!

Hi everyone, I have been researching my problem, I have answers but am still quite confused (doesnt take much to confuse a blonde lol).

I have bought a second hand Peugeot 206 1.4 LX 2001 (51 plate), which came with an after market JVC KDSC601 cd/mp3 player.

The stereo stays on even after ignition keys removed, so I power off the unit using the front panel display. Exit car, lock car. Go back to car, unlock car, stereo turns itself on without me touching it and has also reset itself.

My research stipulates that I need to change the red and yellow wires on the ISO connector at back of stereo. This is the point where I get confused.

The stereo is connected via the car ISO (its not been hacked, its purely been plugged and played into JVC unit) - as I understand it, i have to swap the yellow and red wires, so yellow goes to red, red to yellow. The ISO connector does not have any red or yellow wires hanging from the ISO connector.

So, I assume I need to buy a ISO PC2-32-4 connector and connect it to the car ISO?
Will the ISO PC2-32-4 have a red and yellow wire hanging? If so, what am I physically doing with these wires to correct the memory issue?

Please can you literally explain in super girly blonde english as whilst I understand these wires need swapping, I do not know HOW to swap these wires.

Thanks in advance for replies, its driving me crazy and Halfords are as much use as a choc oven as usual and I dont want to have to spend money for an audio specialist to do it for me, I am determined to fix this myself!

Cheers xx
