Default My cd player has front aux but I want rear

Has rear usb but my iphone wont work with it. So aux is only way to go but prefer the aux to be rear.

I have dismantled the faceplate and have uploaded pics. Was originally going to desolder the aux port and extend it to the length I need. Now Im thinking to buy a female aux port and piggy back off my original one.

Still have problems with feeding my cables through to behind the cd player, probably wont be that complicated though.

One for you John, you prob know much more about this than anyone......

if you look at the bottom of the aux port you will see 3 solder points.

one will be ground, one will be left the other right (audio channels)

solder a small audio wire to these.

you could buy this:
Ford Audio Adaptor kit (Fiesta MK6/Focus MK2): Amazon.co.uk: Car & Motorbike Ford Audio Adaptor kit (Fiesta MK6/Focus MK2): Amazon.co.uk: Car & Motorbike

drill a 2cm hole in your console somewhere and have the port there, cut the connector of the end and solder the correct wires.

you may have to drill into the back of the radio to make a small hole to get the wire through....shouldnt have any issues if you remove all the chips etc.

its a ford part, but nowhere on states it cannot be used with other cars like how i mentioned

hope that make sense

Yep, seen that ok. Ive cut the aux lead and have a green, blue and grey wire. How do I know which one is which. Want to get it right first time as soldering will be tricky.

i would hazard a guess and say grey is the neg/earth cable and the other two are the signal. not sure on the channels ie left or right.

Had a go at soldering it today. First attempt I was getting perfect sound from the passenger side, second attempt I was getting perfect sound from the drivers side and a hissing noise from passenger sound with faint audio coming through.

Thinking its just a bad soldering joint at passenger side but why was the first attempt perfect at passenger side, on the second attempt I never made any change to the passenger side joint.

Do you think maybe the ground is crossing with one of the channels. Im pretty sure I have cables right way round as it wouldnt work if it wasnt earthed and I think even if the channels are the wrong way round it would still play only it would be left channel on right and vise versa...

yeah spot on. if the channels were swapped you would get as you say left coming through right and vice versa.

as you have said about the earth...check it just to make sure there is no cross connection, especially at the solder point...sometime i find a strand of copper wire gets away...but if you solder coat the wire before hand you can elimate that.
