Kenwood head unit turns itself on!

I have just installed a kenwood head unit that keeps losing its memory and also turns itself on when car is left, I have been advised to swap red and yellow wires but just wanted to make sure this applies to kenwood units and not just sony.

wouldn't harm to try it...takes all but 5 mins to do and less than that to get results
