Ok so here's my intention, to install a small subwoofer under a seat, install a 4 channel amplifier and connect this all to the existing Clarion radio/cd + changer
Most would say buy an aftermarket unit with line-outs but i made the mistake of buying a Sony MEXBT2900 head unit with a horrendously bright erray of blue buttons and wasnt to happy that i lost radio information in the MFD display and how out of place it looked, so i replaced it back with the factory unit a purchased a changer. Im wondering if anyone has performed a similar procedure before, i have seen that the headunit can be altered using peugeot planet to be one equipped with an external factory fitted amplifier, thus i'm assuming that this will turn the existing speaker outputs to line outputs for my amplifier? Ive also used speaker to line converters in the past, but im not too overly happy with the quality of them. My main objective is to lift the bass strain off the panel speakers and to put this into a subwoofer utilising the crossover facility in the external amps. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Regards.

you will have to cut all the signal wires for speakers, run them to amp with lets say 5 channels.
1 channel for front 1 channel for rears (or middles) 1 channel for sub 1 channel for tweets 1 channel for parcel shelf and from the amp wire those channels to the right speakers. and your sound should be good.

Hey thanks for the reply,
Ive done a little research. The tweet's are bonded together at the head unit connector since my subwoofer is active, it wont need another channel to power it i will just share the rear My main concern is if i get planet hooked up and switch it to amplified mode (with a factory power amp) will it supply a line out over the speaker terminals or am i just waisting time. I initially thought of scoping around the power ic in the unit to find a near line level point before it hits the power ic, removing it and soldering 4 phono sockets on there... I wont be splicing any of the cabling in the car probably adapting around it with iso plugs and sockets and a soldering job, im not looking for power, just something with a bit more punch and tone
