Default How to know if my 307 has RD3 or RD4?

Hi guys

I'm trying to get an aux output so I can play music thru an mp3 device on my 307 hdi 1.6 2005 model...

Can anyone recommend what I need? How easy to install? And what type of factory fitted radio do I have installed on my car, photo attached

Thanks

Hi, no photos have been attached..
If your headunit has 6 grey buttons it is RD4, otherwise RD3
You can also remove the headunit, if it has a big square connector at the back, it is RD4

Regards

Hi,

Thanks I think I have the 6 grey buttons but can someone please explain how to take the unit out, some basic instructions would be great.

Can anyone tell how to get an aux line output so I can use it with my mp3, what product do I need?

Thanks

You will need to purchase a connects2 device which plugs into the head units cd multi changer port at the back of the radio. You can find these all over eBay, you will need to make sure you purchase the one for the facelift model 55 plate and upwards. Or you could buy a transmitter and stream your songs from a mp3 player to the head unit.

That looks like the correct lead for you, I use 4 small electrical screwdrivers to remove my radio. There is a small hole near each corner of the head unit, put the screw drivers in the holes, and then press each screwdriver outwards so that the ends of the screwdrivers go inwards towards the side of the radio which will press the spring loaded release catches in. Keeping the pressure on the screwdrivers, pull outwards and the radio should come out easily. You can use just 2 screwdrivers and do one side at a time if you like.

Just remember, the connects2 device goes into the cd port of your head unit, this will disable your multi-changer.
