Default factory fitted multichange and tuner

hi, i have just brought myself a 2.0 hdi 90 se 307 2003 model,
when looking at the car i noticed stereo beeps rather loudly at me when switching on,
i have read many posts regarding this not being coded or vin coded to the car,
the dealer has just phoned me to say he took this to the auto electrician and they say it is not the original stereo for this car? help needed on this please.
it is the 6 disc multi change and it will not pick up any radio stations.
hope someone can shed some light on this for me.
is it going to be easier to fit aftermarket cd player of my own rather than getting it fixed, appreciation to any replies.

It takes a couple of minutes in Peugeot Planet to code it, I've done a couple for people on here in the past.

Clutch on Peugeots does tend to be higher than other cars

Without meaning to offend, didn't you look at this car before buying.... all those faults would have been apparent on any viewing/test drive
