Default CD Changer head ache

Hi all,
Can anyone help me with my cd changer problem,
I recently bought a 1.4 206 glx. When I opened the boot I noticed the cd changer was missing. So I have searched the net and found that the changer that is compatable with my Blaupunkt 2040 standard stereo is a clarion 656448 6 disc changer. So I found and bought one off ebay plugger it into the blue multi plug in the boot and slotted it back into the mounting bracket, it was a perfect fit. When I turned the radio on the changer started to flick through and check all six cds I had installed( lable side up) but when I press the source button on the head unit its still telling me that there are no discs presant in the changer. Has anyone experienced this before and how was it fixed?
Any help would be much appreciated( as I through away all my cassete tapes about 15 years ago)!

Is it bog standard factory fitted?

I know mine is the single din 5 disc changer and I took it out whilst fully functional, put it back in and it doesn't work - needs re-programming with Planet.

yes the head unit is standard peugoet Blaupunkt 2040 tape head unit.
Just wondered if any one knows what colour the multi plug for the cd changer would be in the back of the head unit?
Ive got two long iso plugs ,a black and clear one. Im presuming these are for the ignition feed perm/memory feed and such, and the other is for the four speakers.
below these two plugs on the back of the head unit there are three colured mini iso sockets one is blue and the other two green and yellow have blanks in them. I just wondereing is the mini blue iso for the clarion changer or the joystic controls on the steering colum??

Default quick update on multichanger

hi all,
Quick update on this cd changer fault. The clarion cd multichanger is connected to the peugoet 2040 head unit. When I ejected the cd cartridge and placed six origional cds in and inserted it back into the changer, it started doing its thing shuffling the disc about then stopped seemed quite normal. BUt the head unit still says no discs presant. It does not recognise them in the changer.
Has anyone had this problem beffor

Hook it up to planet and see if you can re-introduce your cd changer to your car.

like I say, it's the same with mine.

I think the small square connector is the cd changer, the white one is the general crap and the black one is the steering controls. I think..

Default pug planet

is peugeot planet the sort of thing an independant peugeot dealer would have, dont know anyone who has it and to buy it would cost more than the head unit and changer are worth combined?

I've the Clarion CD changer to the Blaupunkt 2040 Radio/Cassette, I lose the discs when they are placed in the wrong way around, I've done this a couple of times now.

liddley, I do apologise for not replying, I must've missed your last post!

Well, a clever Irishman (I know, sounds mental right) has the peugeot planet map on his signature. Goes by the name bettyswollocks.

If you have a look on the map, you'll be able to find somebody with peugeot planet in your area. Just PM them or ask betty what to do and you should be ok. They charge a little fee, but it's way cheaper than going to the dealers.

In fact, if you think you'll take more than 3 trips to the dealers for codes reading etc, you may as well buy it yourself!

pilier1 - did you finish your post as you didn't ask a question after the "sorry if this is teaching a granny to suck eggs" thing?

anyway, I'd deffo change head unit from the standard clarion/blaupunkt
