Default Aftermarket Stereo loses memory ?!?!

Hi

Today I replaced the original Clarion radio/cd player in my 2005 Peugeot 206 S 1.4. This was because the CD player stopped taking discs. Anyway I installed my new stereo and everything worked fine, I packed all my tools and packaging away and set the clock and all my radio stations, and I was happy. Then when I next started the engine I found that it had reset :@.

So everytime I turn the engine off it loses all memory and it doesnt turn off straight away After reading around it seems like I need to change some of the wiring?

I was wondering if anyone could clarify what I need to do exactly? I am also planning on buying a stalk adaptor so I can use the steering wheel controls... The cheapest I can find is around £24 on ebay.

Thanks in advance. Chris

Swop the power supplies around. Join the red lead to the yellow lead and vise verse.

as david says...there should be a rubber connection halfway down the two wires, to make this easier.

I think I remember a couple of red and yellow wires connected to each other via a bullet connection, so I'll swap those around. Will this also solve the problem of the stereo not turning off straight away?

more than likely from what i heard that might be because the 106 could of preplexed and the "newer" 206's are multiplexed so it could be different

I still have the problem of the radio not turning off when I switch off the engine, despite the yellow and red swapped, so if you find out how to sort it mate, let me know, I am too lazy at the moment

(again the above is stated providing my car aint written off...)

I think my daughter-in law's 307 radio stays on for a certain time after she switches it off.
