from my personal experiance this is not possible due to the car being a CAN/VAN Network. the only headunits that will work are the genuine clarion units. but you can keep the steering wheel stalk controls by buying the relevant adaptors.

EDIT: i forgot to mention you will keep all the info on the MFD but you will lose headunit info such as radio station/track no etc....the clock, mpg (if activated), temp will all stay

Yeah I did that. Watch out cos some of the sellers of the radio stalk adaptors are dodgy

Yeah you wont miss the MFD display for the radio. But you could come across some power problems (I still haven't sorted the problem with my head unit still having power when the engine is off)

I got the Pioneer DEH-3300ub.

This head unit made the standard speakers perform better than the clarion crap, and especially better than the gash blaupunkt cd changer

Is there an adaptor for ripspeed units, I think someone told me sony are the same, anyone confirm?

I was skeptical about buying a ripspeed but halfords had a sale on and got the dvd-733b and got to say this does everything and is a great unit. Plays dvds, got usb port, aux input, sd playback and blue lights even match in with my dash modification.

Just a shame it has no bluetooth, i presume theres no way to add bluetooth to a headunit?
