Default Adding MP3 to the 206

I've been admiring your forum for a few weeks and decided to join I've been driving a 205 since 1999 and changed to a 206 in January.

I would like to add support for MP3 and ID3 tags to my 2004 206. I also would like to keep full operation of stalk controls as well as dash display.

Can it be done ?

I believe my current RD3 radio does not support MP3 in any shape or form, so I guess i'll need some other headunit. The RD4 seems to do everything I want but has CAN bus rather than VAN. My friendly danish stealer explains an RD4 will never work in a 206.

While the various CD changer look-a-like devices do interface to the RD3 they can't display ID3 tags due to RD3 limitations. The prospect of browsing through hundreds of numeric track numbers seems impractical. So, what to do ?

Thank you

Hi RCDriver,

You mention 'While the various CD changer look-a-like devices'

This would not bother me, I just want to listen to the music on shuffle.

My Question, what are these devices, and where can I get one from?

And, do you just swap over your cd changer with it?

Matt.

Matt

I found some UK sites that offer these devices. However I can't post any links to you. It seems forum rules don't allow that for me yet.

You can Google for xcarlink. The xcarlink SKU2282 is designed for Peugeot and offers both ipod and SD cards with mp3 songs. There's also a bluetooth option for these

There's also Denison. The Denison 300 GW33PV1 device is made for Peugeot and appear more well built, but cost more

The xcarlink is supposed to be able to co-exist with your original cd changer, but I have no personal experience.

Note that anyone without a cd changer fitted to their car will need to have a Peugeot dealer switch on the cd changer option for these devices to work
