I recently bought a Peugeot 307 2007 model. It has an RD4 head unit and a Blaupunkt CD changer underneath. I am looking to be able to connect my iPod somehow and also somehow add bluetooth. Now I've Googled aux inputs for this, and all the products on offer that I have seen say that I will end up losing functionality of the CD changer. Is this always the case (i.e. is there a way I don't have to lose the CD changer functionality)? With adding bluetooth functionality, the only option seems that I would have to replace the head unit with a 3rdy part car stereo. Is this the only way? If so, would i lose the CD changer functionality or control from the stalk? I've also read that I would have to reprogramme the on-board software.

I had a connects2 set up in my 307 and had to use the cd changer port, so as far as I'm aware you will have to have a similar type set-up unless there's a lead out there that allows you to connect without actually taking over the cd changer port.
Have you considered an ipod/iphone FM transmitter set-up that includes bluetooth? |

Maybe a Gateway Five will do it as Dension do a kit that on vw it has a cd retainer kit and looking at their site i can only see citroen RD4 and on the link below it says connection via canbus
iPod car adapters, iPod car kits, iPhone car, FM transmitter give them a call and see what they say Last edited by teerak2uk; 06-19-2011 at 04:05 PM. |

I was looking at both the Bury, and the Parrot, and the Parrot won mainly for the analogue volume control, and call buttons. Touchscreen requires more removal of your eyes from the road.

Yes at you still need to look at the screen to see what your selecting so both have pro's and cons but now the bury has the option of speed camera database and voice control is very good whereas the voice control on parrots if the bury had usb then i would choose it every time

Thanks for advice. I'm looking into the Parrot MKi9200. But I was wondering, would it not be better to change the RD4 head unit with one that comes with built-in bluetooth, a USB port and AUX input? Halfords seem to have some decent ones, plus they can install it. That way I could also keep the CD changer. Has anyone attempted to do this?

I would go for the mki9200 as it would be better for updating

I would prefer to have everything integrated. The Alpine CDE-103BT has a built in Parrot bluetooth module with upgradeable software. I just want to make sure there won't be any problems when fitting such devices and that I won't lose functionality of the steering stalk or CD changer.
