308 sport headunit

Hi I'm Millard and new to this forum. I've recently bought a 308 sport and the car is really good apart from the headunit. Its a mono cd player! The unit is a clarion rd - 4, a simaliar style unit was in my old citroen c4 and that played a cd in stereo.. Can you convert the headunit to play cds in stereo and if so how would I go about doing it? My local peugeot dealer is all for helping me solve this problem... Can some1 help?

Would have thought plugging it into Peugeot Planet Diagnostics going into radio ecu picking stereo and configure would solve it ,
has your dealer not mentioned this?

No m8 they don't know about it.... Is peugeot planet diagnostics software which the dealer would have? The dealer which is Regal Peugeot in bilston nr wolverhampton are going to help me as much as possible which is good.

Yes its a dealer diagnostics ,would have thought there would be an option for mono or stereo ,i haven`t looked myself but dealer should know.

Hopefully this will work then. Its the same unit that was in my old citroen c4 and the 308 sport is one amazing motor.... As I say my dealer wants to help me out so ill phone him in the morning and tell him, so hopefully hell know what I'm on about

Just ask him is it in the configuration of the radio ecu that you can change it from mono to stereo , i think it is but then i`ve been proven wrong before

Ask him before you get him to look how much it`ll cost you. £10/£15 would be fair £0 would be better since its a new car.

The CD does play in stereo.

When they call it a mono CD, they mean it only plays one CD, as opposed to a 6 or 10 disc changer.

If for some reason the CD does not give proper stereo imaging, then it's broken.

Apart from the fascia, it is the same unit used on the C4 made by both Blaupunkt and, latterly, Clarion.

When I play a cd the sound sounds dull, like its playing in mono sound not stereo. Even played with the settings but that just made it worse so changed it all back. When I run my ipod through the aux (I've got the correct cable to connect into the ipod and ports etc) the sound is dull as well. When the radios on the sound is fine no probs at all with it... Got my dealer having a look on tuesday so hopefully it'll get sorted...
