Default 307 options for new CD unit -2003 year

Hi;

I have a 2003 307 with the Clarion head unit, with the display on the dash and the stalk control on the steering column. The CD began to jam and I wanted to think about replacements. But, looking around on the internet, it seems the kits for wiring are for 2005 and above models.

I can live without the dash display, but wanted to be sure I can plug something in thru a kit for the wiring harness.

Otherwise, anyone know how I might be able to get a replacement or this unit repaired?

Regards,

Jon

Thanks for the fast reply. Where did you get that kits? I am from the States, and I searched Crutchfield and other places, they do not even know what a Peugeot is

I can get a Sony head unit over there really cheap, I assume the kits you mention should work with any Sony Unit, well that is newer? Did I understand the stick on the steering column might even work?

If I do all that, I am now thinking about speakers. Did you swap out any of yours?

Regards,

Jon

Look at my profile pic. I've changed my head unit, no bother, and filled the space that the crappy cd changer was in with a cubby from ebay!

I bought a Sony Bluetooth MP3 CD player from Argos last year.

I found Car Audio Direct brilliant for advice on the cables I needed:

Hi;

great, I will ring them up. Since all these things I fund, liek this post shows Peugeot 307 in the tile, but then when you look at what cars it fits, 307 is never mentioned, or they talk about >2005 in some ads. It seems my 2003 /Clarion is a weird unit or the just do not make anything for it. So, I guess I will go the American way, get power, ground and re-wrie the speakers directly if they cannot provide a kit as I am spending a huge amount of time fooling around with this :~)

Regards,

Jon

I've been and bought a Sony MEX-BT2900 head unit from Argos today for my 307 Rapier (03 model).

The leads mentioned here look to be what I need to use my stick control, even if they do seem expensive. Are they hard to fit and do they come with instructions?

I had no issues removing the old stereo and fitting the new one but I'm suspecting there's more involved with the stalk control??

It's not rocket surgery or brain science that's for sure

I reckon the hardest part will be tucking the wires and connectors back into the dash!

When I was setting up Planet I found the hardest bit was taking off that bit of plastic trim which hides the OBD socket!

Do you have to remove the plastic around the steering column or does the cable kit just connect to the existing ISO leads or something?

Just trying to work out where it fits to see how hard a task this will be.

It sounds daft but despite being really happy with my new Sony unit I am missing having the steering wheel control and would like this back.
