Default 206 Quicksilver + Pioneer head unit

ok i'll start with the fact that im more of a pc/tv man the cars so please forgive if i miss out anything important or dont understand any of your replies.........

i bought a 52 plate quicksilver 206, there was a pioneer headunit in that i really want to use. usb,cd,mp3 etc. HOWEVER it does not power up, had it checked by a local halfords lad and he basically said the 12v feed that was wired through the loom wasnt supplying any power, but that there was another wire not in use in the loom that i could use, i think it was the red from the head unit to the yellow off the loom?? Tried this and still get nowhere......... if any pics would help please say so, but any help would be appreciated as i cant stand driving in silence, especially because the damn thing is lowered and you hear/feel the crunch of every bug you run over!!
Thanks in advance

yeah that was my first thought unfortunately, and its fine

following on from the halford guys advice, ok if the red and yellow are colour coded differently, but surely if what he said was right and my cars switched-live as they call it has no power at the second loom, then im screwed right? because the other permanent live is only low power or something?

Have you also checked for a fuse on the back of the head unit itself?

guess not,was worth a try. found a local specialist ICE place anyway, guy agreed to check it out and completely rewire the loom/multiplexing etc for 30 quid this little car could be the beginning of a beautiful but expensive relationship haha

you could take a live from the battery for the permanant live but make sure you have a in line fuse fitted (10amp) and use a circuit tester to find a switched live from ignition this would save you money. would cost less than £5

thanks for the tip mate, but im gonna try get friendly with these guys, their one of those "local friendly" types from what i seen so cant hurt to get in with them, especially seeing some of the work they've done. BTW if that pug in your pic is yours, loving the work!!

Mines a way off that, i just need to find a way to have more room in the foot well, acclerator to brake with size 11 feet is tricky haha. Next on the list is the hiss from the off-side from brake when letting off the pedal, dont always do it and stops if i tap the brake pedal, hoping its not the cylinder cos heards thats a pricey job...... doesnt seem to effect the car much but little things like that bug the **** out of me!
