Default 206 GTI Radio

me and my brother bought a '54 206 GTi for my mum this Christmas, car is okay, needs a couple of things doing though!

We disconnected the battery and now the car's radio beeps every few seconds

I have googled the problem and seems I should have disconnected the battery in a certain way, with doors closed, after 3 min delya etc

I tried to reset the BSI with the procedure but some people say I need the bonnet closed also (if so then can't access the battery terminals!!)

I don't get how the Radio has lost it's Vin coding, but perhaps it is not the original radio and perhaps the BSI has been programmed with that radio before?!

Anyway I'm all set to buy a Lexia 3 cable for the car but need to know amongst the eBay ones which is the best? I understand some are cheap copies

Once I get the Lexia 3 and PP2000 software how do I programme the BSI to accept the Radio? I need a new person's step by step guide but not even obvious things missed out!!

So to recap really I need

1, How to reset BSI (hoping wont need to do any more than that)

2, If I do need Lexia 3 and PP2000 then which one is best, and how to program the Radio?
I hope you all have a Happy new year, especially without radio beeping!!

This is where I got my kit from >>> Lexia-3 Diagnostic Scanner Tool For Citroen and Peugeot - Automotive - Professional Diagnostic - Door2Door Shop
and I know of a few others who have, and haven't had any problems.

To reprogram the VIN into the radio will only take 2 mins, but I would propose to wait until you have got the kit, and installed on your laptop, and then come back for that

p.s. make sure you've got a laptop with Win XP on it too

There is a link on the forums here somewhere for the BSI reset... but can't find it right now.

Thank you very much! Did you have problems importing that Cable? Did it cost a great deal, or maybe get stopped by customs?

I do have a XPP Lappy ready for the job, glad I got it now!

No problems with importing - no customs problems or charges.
They charge about £30 postage, so presume this covers it. Still not a bad price at £80 delivered.
It arrived within 6/7 days of ordering.... not bad considering where it came from!

Very cool, does it include the adaptor for older cars? Not a deal breaker, but I would want one to also help with my older 306

Default Peugeot Planet

Ok the kit is on it's way (just got a E-Mail update)

I understand that most people use "Peugeot Planet 2000" or "Diagbox" with Diagbox the later tool.

Will Peugeot sell Diagbox, or is it a case of having to "find" it?!

I google this and see people have issues with some version of Diagbox, so is there a "safe" version?

Peugeot won't sell you any of it.... its all copy software

There are downloads to both PP2000 and Diagbox on this forum

Don't bother with Diagbox, just use PP - Diagbox is only for cars built in the last 12 months

Don`t load Diagbox unless you know which version it is , the newer versions of diagbox could ruin your interface

Stick with pp2000
