v reg year 2000 hdi peugeot 806 non starter, cranks but does not catch---even tried being naughty and tow start not a bit of life gave up after half mile----- however spray with carb cleaner and it fires and run ,aftre half hour running all warm and retried again non start till carb cleaner so 100% not glow plugs, fuel spills out from fuel pipe and injector overflow pipe

common fault for non start is the fuel tank breather pipe blockage put a new pipe. rather then trying to clear it
|

should it then work when fuel cap taken of??? or have i got late night blues

you could always try it.not going to hurt anything.not sure if they have a sensor on the filler cap on them that might stop it from working also.but not sure if anyone else could say

It's not unheard of for the timing belt to fail when trying to bump start an olde 8v HDi. You wanna stick a new belt on to be sure you're safe. You'd have to take the old one off to inspect it, by which time a new one is a sensible option.

no car still starts and runs perfect if i get it going with carb cleaner and run around for a few miles left running for half hour just switch of and have to get spray can out again- not imobilised, glow plugs, cranksensor or any other put cheap old fault code reader nothing in memmory

great took off fuel high pressure regulator on end of high pressure pump -bit gritty/mucky cleaned and refitted now starts on key every time..... glad did not change pump first !!!! but have to keep fingers crossed for mot- puffing black smoke on rev test but put some cleaner in for now
