Noisy 806 air-con motor

I get a whining noise directly related to the speed of the heater motor from around the speedometer area. It seems there are two blower motors on the digital air con models. Anyone know if the motor is accessible and whether a good squirt of WD 40 is likely to cure it!? Cost of a new motor makes replacement a non-starter. Thanks.

Did you find out how to fix it?
I have a similar problem.
The blower in the left hand foot well makes an electrical whining/squeal as the speed is changed.
I have not tried taking it out yet - as I cannot see which bits to undo.
Looks a fiddly job :-(
Anyone taken one out?

I just started taking things apart and have got down to the bit that is making the noise.

On the way I've taken apart way too much stuff trying to figure it out.
So when I put it back together I'll see if there is an easier way to do it.

The bit that squeaks is what we suspected i.e. the fan motor.
On my 806 it is a Bosch 0 130 111 200

This image is from a Swedish web site and the part salvaged from a Renault Laguna.



There are 3 torx screws holding the assembly up into the rest of the fan housing. The one towards the front of the car is the tricky one to undo. I used a flexible extension in my small socket set. The other two are fairly easy to get too.

It has just one electrical connector a brown connector.

With all these undone the fan assembly just drops down and out.

I taken it apart and the brushes are OK for length. I've cleaned it with electrical contact cleaner and I've put a drop of oil on the end bearing.
However it still squeals.

Now it has stopped raining and my left leg has dried from the last shower - I'll start to put some of the stuff back together.

I'll let you know how I get on.

Held in by 3 screws and a 4 wire brown electrical connector.

Took apart far more than I needed to.

Made a bit of progress - how have you been getting on?

Took the difficult approach to finding the easier way to do it

I took a lot of the dash apart - but you don't need to do that.
The offending part can be removed from under/behind the glove box/LHS.

Thanks CT. I'd intended to do exactly what you have done and it didn't work for you! Just been away for a few weeks to France and the vast majority of the time it didn't make a squeak! Behaved perfectly! I'm still head-scratching regarding the next step!

Mine has reached a noise level akin to a turbo-pro taking off. It's becoming unbearable

No afraid not. After CT's experience I decided to put up with it! It's not getting worse and I'm getting used to it

Sounds like yours is worse than mine though. Mine's on the driver's side which seems to make it even more difficult to access.
