The variable vanes in the turbo are stuck in a high boost position.
You could have vacuum problems also. Check the vacuum circuit first.

P0246 Turbo pressure regulation electrovalve control : Short-circuit to positive The above fault basically says that the turbo control solenoid is faulty or there is wiring problem...first thing to do is swap egr solenoid with turbo control solenoid and see if the fault p0264 remains..if so then it has to be wiring or an engine ecu fault. The turbo control solenoid looks like this.. Pressure converter, turbocharger Peugeot 407 Coupe (6C_) 2.0 HDi from Pierburg - 7.00612.01.0 You should find it bolted onto the bulkhead, the egr control solenoid is normally to the left of the turbo control solenoid on the 806's.... ![]() Btw...What engine, year is your 806..?? Ron.

Just to echo David Ireland's comment:
Check the vacuum circuit - my 806 was loosing power and going into limp home mode. There was a tiny tear/hole in the rubber diaphragm that operates the pollution control butterfly valves (aka swirl control actuator). The leak was enough to loose vacuum such that when the turbo was required there was not enough vacuum left to operate it. Also on my 806 the cup at the end of the accuator rod had broken too. I fixed it but still had the power loss until we took the thing apart and discovered the hole. Took ages to diagnose as all the faults point to elctrical/turbo related problems. HTH C.T. |
