Hi,
Can anyone help? My 607 is saying that the winscreen washer bottle is empty (although it is full) and my washer pump has stopped working. I am not sure whether the two issues are connected. I have removed the switch from the steering wheel, pulled it apart, and checked it out and all is OK here. I have removed the pump and checked it off the car and it works OK. I have checked the 10 amp fuse (and replaced it) and although this is OK there seems to be no power getting through to the pump. Is there a timer relay somewhere in the circuit as the pump operates for a longer period than the switch is activated? If so where is it? I have bought a manual from the internet and unfortunately it does not have wiring diagrams and so I am stumped...and somewhat angry! Any help please as I am due for an MOT and this will fail it.

jack the car, take the front drivers side wheel off.. take the wheel arch off and just below the pillar, the washer bottle is located.. it has two pumps in it (one for the screen and one for the head lamps) depending on your model and the sensor is beside it.. take the plug off.. and check if there is a 12v feed there.. Im 100% sure that its the pump.. I m thinking you have already checked the fuse?

Thanks for replying Scotcruz. I have already bought a new pump as I initially anticipated this to be the problem....but it is not. The old pump worked fine when removed and connected to a 12 volt power supply. The new pump does not work either.
I have found that I can at least get power to the pump by bypassing the sensor although the 10amp fuse blows. I have pulled the sensor apart to find circuitry, capacitors and resistors inside...which surprised me. There is obviosly some sort of connection between the two items. I have ordered a new sensor and I will post the results of my experiments as I go along. Obviously this is not a common problem as you have been the only response so far. Thanks again anyway. The outcome of all of this is that I replaced the sensor and problem sorted. There must be a link from the sensor to the pump that stops the pump from working. Anyway I am happy now.....just my rear discs, pads and handbrake shoes to change this afternoon.
