Default Strange destination Info

My wonderful 607 is giving me a little bit of information that I don't understand.
Let me explain :-
Last year I had a big problem with the display screen. It stopped working, so to repair it I changed the ECU (hugely expensive). but it cured the problem.

The screen now reads 18,920 miles to destination. Wow I haven't even set the sat nav. When I put the key in the ignition and turn it on the dash comes up with a spanner sign and the same mileage (only for a second or two).
Both of these reduce as the miles clock up.
When I set the navigation system the distance to destination reads correct, until I get there and then it returns to the 18000+. i have watched this count down over the passed few months and am at a loss to what it means. Will the car explode when the distance reads zero? Where is it taking me to?

The service light mileage has been reset so its not that. The destination mileage remains.

Any one out there any ideas as to -
A--What the mileage indicates
B--How do I remove it.

Hi mate, sorry to hear about your problem...

clearly its ECU related, when you got the ECU changed did you get the ECU download from Planet? it needs to be initialised..

the mileage beside the spanner is the service indicator..
the other mileage you mentioned relates to the fault..

hope that helps..

Hi
Thankyou for the info
I didn't get any down load from planet as I've got no access to one.
I have reset the distance since recomended service (the mileage beside the spanner) so I don't think its that. That mileage goes up as you get further passed the service schedule. This mileage however is coming down and is over 18 thousand. The mileage on both displays is identical (both reducing).
When I look at the information screen on the dash colour display there is all the normal info but if there is no sat nav inoperation the display shows :-
-----/ then the chequed flag then 18000 (this then count downs as I drive). Is there a way of removing this without resorting to planet or taking it to the main dealer as they're not very helpful.

Dave
