Getting my starter motor replaced today after the car (2.2HDI) has only done 18,476 miles, surely this cannot be right ? Anyone else had problems with these at such low miles? The starter coming out will look like new I should imagine, very frustrating. Does anyone recondition these units?

Nope its an 04 (yes really!) my father bought it new and it sat in the drive and got used occasionally (he bought a 307SW for my mum the same day and right from the off he preferred driving it) The car was serviced faithfully by Peugeot in Perth. So pretty much like a new car. My biggest problem now is that the garage got in touch and said the starter motor I bought is wrong and apparently there are at least 3 different models with different fits and even different amounts of teeth
The one that came off was a Mitsubishi M000T20871 (13 teeth) Any factor I have contacted have been no help. My local Peugeot dealer has nothing in stock till at least next week. So all in all a pretty miserable week. FYI its an March 04 SE 2.2HDI (6 speed box ) engine is DW12TED4 Can anyone shed any light on the starter I need.
