Are the auto lights coming on and off? The screen will dim/brighten with the on/off of the lights.

Default probs

come on david, im getting desperate. lol, my mechanic thought it might be the regulator in the alternator not working properly, saying it would be a higher output when screen went bright but its the same output all the time

Default sat nav screen
worked out to day that my screen goes to the brightest setting when it is malfunctioning you can make it go the three settings darker but when you get to 0 it just stays the same brightness. Now the question is what is malfunctioning, is there a way of re setting screen or is it linked to ther ecu where the problem is. can any 1 tell me if there is anything on pp that i can have a look at please
