sounds like you may have bricked your satnav...was it just a map update or firmware?

if it was map you can just reinstall the maps

if it was firmware, im afraid your fucked (sorry)

quick question what is the manufacturer and model of the satnav, if it is garmin i may be able to help...

yeah firmware is always a high risk thing to update...no matter how easy they say it is and how much of a low risk it will be.

you may be lucky enough to claim the repair by the manufacurer as it was their update that messed it up. but repair should be pretty cheap though, i formatted the partition on a garmin, which long story short messed it up, it was outside of manufact warrenty but they repaired it (sent me a refurbed) for £30.

if you can find the manufacturers name and device model, you may be also able to find recovery software for this type of problem, but that will be hitting mega lucky...but there is stuff out there.
