there are four screws that hold the radio..

its not that difficult..

step 1

pull out the aircon control.. (used an old toast knife) - you now have access to two screws

step 2

take off the centre consol.. (two screws at the bottom near the ashtray) - you now have the access to the other two screws..

let me know if you need any help..

Thanks for the post, that got me started. There was a wee bit more to it. The rear screws are under the trim cover that has the suspension mode, rear blind and central lock buttons on it. Also getting the A/C controls out wasn't exactly a walk in the park, it was in there tight!

There are also 4 screws in the middle, after removing the chrome surround around the auto gear stick, put the car into manual gear selection mode and lift the whole center section up, you may have to "Change down" a few times on the gear lever to raise it more than a half inch. And the gear knob pulls off, it doesn't unscrew.

Was able to clean around the gear selection gate whilst it was apart too, as an added bonus. I have an iPod controller on order for my wife's 307, I will try it in the 607 first and see if it works... I might then have to order another one for myself!

sorry mate, you didnt mention that yours was an auto and I assumed it was manual...

Taking out the aircon control wasnt that hard.. perhaps I have done it a few times thats why

Glad you got around it mate.. The ipod thing deffo works as I have got one on mine.. if you have got the right one, it simply plugs into the cd changer socket, which I think is the green one.. thats all..

good luck, let us know if you need any help..

Thanks, got it all apart (and manual - forgot that would be the more popular option in the UK, they would be rarer than rocking horse sh!t here), but the ipod unit I bought doesn't seem to work with the head unit in my car. I will upload a description of the problem in a new thread. Cheers Dave
