problem with automatic boot

This is getting on my nerves. The boot lid /door/cover what ever you call it has got a mind of it own. Press the button or remote control boot will only open part of the way.....and the same on closing...... starts to close then opens again and sometime have to physically push it down to close it.
Would it by any chance have a micro switch or similar? :confused

(edit) Took my car into the local garage on Friday for MOT and repair to the auto boot.. charged me £31.00 labour for the boot and £45.00 for the MOT and still the same if not worst(will go back to garage but i dont think they will be able to repair)
