Default iPod interface problems

I bought an interface that looked like it would work with the 607. It doesn't. It as all the right connectors, but when i connect it the dash goes nuts, and all the warning lights go up. It powers the ipod OK and charges it, but thats where it ends.

The unit is:

The DS-PGIPOD010 kit comprises of an interface to allow direct connection of an iPod to Peugeot vehicles with VDO RC200 / 220 / 260 / 280 / 290 Clarion PU2294 / 1633 (RD3) head units fitted in the following models:

* 206 : 2002 onwards
* 206cc : 2004 onwards
* 307 : 2002 onwards
* 307sw : 2004 onwards
* 406 : 2002 onwards
* 407sw : 2004 onwards
* 607 : 2002 onwards
* 807 : 2002 onwards

Now, when I pull the car apart - different head unit - bugger

The connector looks right, but only uses 3 wires to control the CD changer.

Any obvious newbie mistakes?

(I will fit this to my wife's 307 and use it there - so not a complete waste of money)

dont think the interface is compatible with your motor Dave...

I have one and it works fine, I paid £159 for it.. I know others claim it works but in fact it doesnt...
