After many weeks of trying to sort out my problem with my car, i think ive finally got it sorted, ive replaced the egr valve, the map sensor, its been on numerous types of dignostic contraptions and none have been able to correctly diagnose what the problem was.
As i was driving my truck last week on nightshift i spotted a 607 in a garage forecourt filling up with diesel, i pulled into the garage and asked the driver (an old man who looked absolutely terrified that a 6 foot 4 inch tall built like a brick ****house "geordie" comes upto him at 0230hrs asking "giz a luk at ya engine bonnylad coz ive got 1 of these bludy 607,s and its knackered) after looking at the engine for a couple of minutes i realised when you accelerated, the swirl valve mechanism moved a full 45 degress, when u used the throttle on mine it only moved about 5 degrees. I had already made an appointment to go over to Cambridge the following day to see Zooanski and get my car diagnosed through his peugeot planet, after mark had done his wizardry on my car he agreed that it was probably the "swirl valve" not working correctly that was causing my car to be in a turbo over boost condition all the time. I have had the whole swirl valve mechanism replaced (after dismantling the old one, there was a small hole in the diaphragm) and now the car is running perfect.... no warning lights no limp mode no nothing, except the 1352 fault (preheat relay light) showing which, ive been told by numerous people to ignore as it isnt causing me any problems I would like to say thank you to mark (zooanski) for plugging my car into his pp, i would definately recommend anyone with problems to go and see him he is a really nice lad and is magic on his laptop and everyone else who has given me their bits of wisdom of cars into sorting out my 607 Last edited by collyflowercheese; 02-27-2011 at 10:36 AM. |

So the moral of the story here is to hang around garage forecourts to jump on little old men who are driving the same car as you. Who needs a peugeot planet, stalking is far more effective & cheaper if you want to get your car fixed

But hey! I'm just a poor old bloke, in fact a LOT of 607 owners are. Owning one is practically as select as the Austin-Healey owners club. There's nothing us 'old blokes' like better than talking 607 at 3am particularly if it helps another owner out. I hope you pumped him a tank of fuel from your trailer jim. |

I know this is an old thread but I've been looking for an answer to a problem similar to this and rather than start a new thread I thought I would continue this one. I have an 03 807 2.2HDi that occasionally shows a diesel articulate filter fault, I plugged my PP in and amongst other things noticed a P0245 code after a little searching it sounds similar to this issue. Does anyone know where the switl valve is on the 807 and what does it look like? Hope someone can help. Cheers

Well, it has been a very long time since I last posted. After a talk with Collyflowercheese over the phone...... and a few months later I eventually got round to ordering a new diaphram/swirl control valve from peugeot (just over £20 inc VAT).
I will be getting it fitted over the weekend hopefully so will post back after this has been done ans a little testing. Thanks to colleyflowercheese for the advise/information. Regards
