Default Fuel Filler Flap

My 607 is displaying a fault, when you start the car it indicates that the fuel filler flap is open, does any body know where the sensor/switch is for this before I take it to a dealer

Its the part 16 on the pic, part no: 1503 P3 It works by having the magnet on the fuel cap close to the sensor. Sometimes the magnets fall out of the fuel cap, check your fuel cap and see if you have magnets present on both sides. Also if you feel adventurous, you can try measuring resistance on the sensor by disconnecting it and measuring the resistance on the plug end, 150mega ohms is normal when fuel cap is there, around 10-ohms when fuel cap is away. anything else would indicate a fault.

Thanks for that, I have looked and it has magnets both sides but I can't see the sensor, but as its dark at the moment it doesn't help, I will have a better look in the day light

This is now fixed. It was the sensor that had to be replaced, about £18 from Peugeot.
