Default Front Parking Sensors

My 2006 (55) 607 has the front sensors on the bumper but they do not seem to work, how can I find out if they were originally fitted?
The rear sensors work fine, but the parking sensor option on the display is greyed out and when you reverse they do not show on the display, is this normal?

My rear parking sensors have the traffic light colour system on the display but the front was a aftermarket system put in by previous owner and has a small display placed on the dash right under the window, not connected to pug display

The sensors are difinatley peugeot ones as they are moulded into the bumper, did peugeot fit these bumpers to the cars even if they didn't have sensors?

Thanks, the bumper must just have them there as standard even if they aren't fitted, how can I tell if the rear ones are supposed to show on the colour screen?

hm, i somewhat doubt that. what cabinpac mentioned sounds reasonable. unless yours had a bumper changed and had one fitted with sensors. see if you can take a peek on the inside of the bumper and look if there is any wires going to sensors.

This is strange because I agree that I wouldn't expect peugeot to fit sensor type bumpers to cars that don't have them but every picture tha I have found of facelift 607s have the sensor type bumber on even if they are advertised as only having rear PDC.

Would it be as easy as buying the sensors and getting it activated in planet using the existing PDC ECU or would it need a seperate ECU?
