Default Front brake Pads

1st I have to admit to being a little bit of a cheapskate.
The front pads on my 607 3.0 auto wore out so I fitted replacements. Non Peugeot ones at a 1/3 of the cost.
I've had a brake squeal ever since (the past 6 months). Nothing I have done will stop it. Anti squeal shims, copper grease etc.
With a little research I find that cheaper pads are made of a harder material that wear the disc much quicker. This is supposed to be a selling point as they are advertised as lasting longer than the originals (of course they will) but what they won't tell you is that discs will wear faster and cost more than the pads to replace.
So if you have to replace your brakes I'd advise genuine parts.

Now to the real reason for this POST

My Peugeot Dealers will not give me the part number for the Front Pads in case I loacte them on EBAY. Is there someone out in E-World that can?
I need the Peugeot number for front pads to fit a 607 3.0 Auto fitted with BREMBO calipers.

Hi Scotcruz
I clicked on your ebay link for the pads. My car is the 2005 facelift V6 model. I asked them if these were the correct pads for my car and even gave them the chassis number. They came back and said ask your peugeot garage as they couldnt tell me! And has been mentioned before, they wouldnt give me the part number. So are these pads the same for my year of V6 please ? Cheers Nigel

Nigel, the facelift model came with TRW Lucas Calipers and are different to the flebay link above..

Your part number is 4253.83

There are no genuine ones available at the moment.

You can see THESE for £52.99 or THESE for £29.99

If you want to buy genuine part, PM me your Chasis number and I will confirm the part number for definite before ordering.

good luck mate !!
