Hi All,
Does anyone know the cylinder positions on the 3.0 V6 2002 607. i.e. where is cylinder 5, is it centre back or centre front (standing at the front of the car). I have a fault and the code reader says there is a misfire on Cylinder 5. I cannot find a diagram anywhere on which cylinder is which. Many thanks in advance. |

Many thanks for the reply, it was just the information I needed.
This is my mate's 607. It used to be mine up until about a year ago and it went perfectly. At the weekend, he was driving it and the engine is intermitantly not running as it should and the engine management light came on. Upon reading the codes it is saying there is a misfire on cylinder 5 (P0305). My suspicsion was the coil for cylinder 5 as I know from previous experiences that these are a common failure. I just could not find any information on which way the cylinders were numbered on the 607. on my own car cylinders 1,2,3 are at the back and 4,5,6 are on the front but on my wife's car 1,2,3 are on the front and 4,5,6 are on the back. He has now removed the manifold and swapped the coil with one at the front to prove the theory and so he could put everything back (the fronts can be done without removing the manifold). The problem has now transferred to cylinder 2 so it does confirm it's the coil. Many thanks for your help. |

Very Interesting thread!
I have now had failure of 3 out of 6 coil packs in 18 months. Just this weekend I was in Silverstone for the World Renault Series and got in the car to come home back Up North and the usual fault came on. Depolotion fault and the engine management light on and running on 5 cylinders. Luckily for me i always carry a spare coil 'just in case'! Anyway after 3 different breakdown services AA,RAC and a local garage they change the correct coil. They last guy said, because it's a French car the say the 123,456 is from the passenger side and not the driver's side. So the moral of the story is, always carry a spare coil pack with you, and a genuine part is cheaper than any aftermarket part .
