Question 607 headlights come on after car is parked up!

After I park the car, headlights come on on their own after about 1 or 2 minutes. They even stayed on after I disconnected battery (which made me think car was haunted, or there was a hidden camera filming "You've been framed", until I discovered that there is a battery in the boot as well.)

Originally I was disconnecting rear battery to get lights to go off, but then discovered that pulling out the mega fuse under bonnet switched them off.

Any ideas what's causing this and how to fix it?

May be coincidence, but the anti-pollution light has also started coming on. This was a few days after the lights problem started.

Also one of the headlights not working - not the bulb. If you turn the headlights off and on again, it works for a few seconds and then there is a click somewhere down the passenger footwell side and it goes out.

Finally, again may be coincidence, the automatic headlights function doesn't seem to work anymore and you have to switch the lights on manually.

Any advice gratefully received - have already thought of setting fire to it!!

Silly question... but I take it you have the guide-me-home headlights disabled?

Depending on which screen you have in yours, it will look slightly different, however, go to:
  • Personalisation Configuration
  • Define the vehicle parameters
  • Lighting and signalling
  • Guide-me home headlamps

Tried that but can't find the screens you refer to. There are 6 options on the screen:
  • Gen info
  • Navigation guidance
  • Map
  • Video
  • Adjustments
  • On-board computer
There are "Menu" and "Mode" buttons, but no combination of these screens and buttons brings up anything like the names you mention. Unless I'm not doing it right?

Not sure which year yours is. All the handbooks are here > INFOTEC
So have a look for your year 607, then read under the Multifunction Displays section - all the steps I've mentioned above are detailed.
I bet from your list it will be under adjustments

It's an 03 model. I've had a look at the manual for that year under the multifunction display section, but I still can't find the headings that you refer to?

Do you think that all the other problems I referred to in the original post are related or just coincidental?

If I can't stop the lights coming on, it would be helpful to deal with some of the other problems

It would appear the function/procedure I've described would be for the newer models - I took one 607 at random last night, and the above was for that model year, and as it was the same for my 2005 407 I thought they would all be the same.
Maybe yours doesn't have this feature afterall, in which case its not causing your lights to stay on when switched off.
I would very much doubt that this would have been the cause for the other issues you have mentioned. It would probably be best to have a diagnostic scan done which may then point you in the right direction. Check the map to see who is close to you Diagnostic (Peugeot Planet) Map

Thanks for your help. I've located the contact nearest to me as "Elmafudd" (Leicester). How do I get in touch?
